Intelligence Document Reveals US Militarization of Mayyun Island with Saudi Coordination

Al-Masirah Network has obtained an official intelligence document issued by the so-called Coast Guard affiliated with Saudi-US mercenaries, revealing extensive US military activity on Yemen’s strategic Mayyun Island since 2022.

According to the document, US military movements on the island have been carried out under direct Saudi coordination, including joint management of a newly constructed military runway, in a move that is a violation of Yemeni sovereignty and part of Washington’s agenda to militarize Bab al-Mandab and regional maritime routes.

The document details the landing of two US V-22 Osprey aircraft on Mayyun Island, followed by the immediate deployment of American troops around the runway to assess the operational readiness of military facilities established by the US-Saudi aggression.

It also exposes Saudi efforts to mislead mercenary factions by denying prior knowledge of the US landing. At the same time, US communications confirmed that the operation was conducted under the supervision and coordination of Saudi forces stationed on the island and responsible for managing runway operations.

The document further indicates that Saudi presence on Yemeni islands serves as cover for American, British, and Zionist ambitions, intending to transform strategic Red Sea locations into closed military bases operated by foreign officers.

According to Al-Masirah, the revelations demonstrate that the Israeli enemy and the United States are the primary drivers of military activity on occupied Yemeni islands, while mercenary factions are sidelined even in areas they claim to control.

Mayyun Island, located at the southern entrance of the Bab al-Mandab Strait, is one of Yemen’s most strategically significant sites for international maritime navigation. Sana’a authorities have repeatedly warned that foreign military bases established on Mayyun and Socotra pose a threat to international shipping and regional stability.

Yemeni officials say the use of advanced aircraft such as the V-22 Osprey indicates US intentions to build rapid-intervention capabilities in the heart of the strait, as part of a broader American-led escalation supported by regional allies and aimed at imposing a permanent colonial-style military presence in Yemeni territorial waters.
