Iran: We Will Resume Negotiations with Washington in Geneva Based on Recent Understandings

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi affirmed on Tuesday that his country will resume its negotiations with the United States of America in Geneva the day after tomorrow, Thursday, based on the understandings reached in the previous round, with firm determination to reach a fair and equitable agreement as soon as possible.

Araqchi said in a statement on his channel on the “Telegram” platform, reviewed by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba): “Our fundamental positions and beliefs are as clear as the sun: Iran will never, under any circumstances, seek to develop nuclear weapons; at the same time, we Iranians will never abandon our right for our people to enjoy the benefits of peaceful nuclear technology.”

He added: “We now have a historic opportunity to reach an unprecedented agreement that addresses common concerns and guarantees common interests. Reaching an agreement is within reach, but on condition that diplomacy is given priority.”

He concluded: “We have proven that we will spare no effort in protecting our sovereignty. We carry this same determination to the negotiating table, where we will strive to achieve a peaceful resolution to any dispute.”
