Iranian Foreign Ministry strongly condemns Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon

The spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmail Baghaei, today, Sunday, strongly condemned the violent Israeli airstrikes carried out by the Zionist entity on various areas of Lebanon, particularly residential areas in the south, which resulted in the destruction of buildings and civil infrastructure.

In a post on the X platform, monitored by the Yemen News Agency (SABA), the Foreign Ministry spokesperson described the Israeli military aggression against Lebanon and the targeting of public infrastructure and citizens’ houses as a blatant violation of the core principles of the United Nations Charter and a clear example of a war crime, emphasizing the direct responsibility of the states guaranteeing the ceasefire for these crimes.

He expressed solidarity with the government , people of Lebanon and called on the international community to take immediate and effective measures to end the impunity of the Israeli entity.

The spokesperson also highlighted the ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement by the Israeli entity over the past 15 months, noting the legal and political responsibility of the supporters and guarantors of the ceasefire for these repeated breaches.

He stressed the necessity of fulfilling the responsibilities entrusted to the United Nations, particularly the Security Council, to immediately halt these attacks and hold the Israeli entity accountable for its serious violations of international law.
