Israeli forces prevent delivery of Iftar meals to al-Aqsa Mosque compound

Israeli enemy forces on Wednesday evening prevented the delivery of Iftar meals to al-Aqsa Mosque compound, including to employees of the Islamic Waqf Department.

Al-Quds governorate confirmed that the Israeli authorities imposed strict measures on the delivery of meals, even for citizens who come with their families to break their fast at al-Aqsa Mosque compound and bring their own food.

Recently, the Israeli authorities have banned a large number of Maqdeseyan from entering al-Aqsa Mosque compound for varying periods, in addition to tightening their military measures at the gates of the Old City and in the Damascus Gate area, restricting access for worshippers to al-Aqsa Mosque.

In a previous statement, Maqdeseyan governorate warned against the systematic restrictions that the Israeli enemy authorities intend to impose on the access of worshippers from the West Bank governorates to the blessed al-Aqsa Mosque during the month of Ramadan, which include setting a numerical ceiling of no more than ten thousand worshippers on Friday, and stipulating age categories limited to men over the age of 55 and women over the age of 50, in flagrant violation of the freedom of worship guaranteed by international covenants and laws, and an attempt to turn an authentic religious right into a privilege subject to security conditions imposed by the enemy authority.
