Mufti of Oman warns against treason, points to fate of peers

The Mufti of Oman, Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al-Khalili, warned on Monday those who contemplate betraying their homeland, urging them to learn from the fate that awaits them. He affirmed that the enemy does not reward traitors but rather disposes of them after their usefulness ends.

In a post on “X,” Sheikh Al-Khalili likened the fate of traitors in Afghanistan today to what America did to them when it left Afghanistan, and it resembles what the Zionists did with those who cooperated with them against their own people.

He stated, “There are many lessons in the events of time, and how similar are the consequences of those who betray their homelands and cooperate with their enemy who occupies their lands, disregarding ties of kinship, homeland, and religion.” He warned those who contemplate treason by asking, “If this dreadful outcome is the consequence of betrayal in this world, then what about its consequence in the Hereafter?!”
