The chief minister of Balochistan province in southwestern Pakistan, Sarfraz Bugti, said that security forces killed 145 militants over a 40-hour period following coordinated attacks across the province, as authorities grapple with one of the deadliest clashes in years.
These attacks underscore that insurgents remain active in the resource-rich province, which borders Iran and Afghanistan, where armed separatist groups have intensified their attacks on security forces, civilians, and infrastructure, according to Reuters.
