Palestinian Citizen Forced To Demolish His Home In Beit Hanina

Israeli occupation forces forced a Palestinian citizen to demolish his home in the town of Beit Hanina, north of occupied Quds (Jerusalem), on Saturday.

Palestinian sources reported that the occupation authorities forced citizen Majed Al-Salaymeh to demolish his home in Al-Ashqariya neighborhood of the town, which houses four people, under the pretext of building without a permit.

In addition, they were also forced to pay fines exceeding 100,000 shekels.

It is worth noting that the occupation authorities force Palestinian citizens, especially in Jerusalem, to demolish their own homes under the pretext of lack of permits, while those who refuse this measure, their homes be demolished by occupation bulldozers, and exorbitant costs imposed on the owner.

The occupation municipality in Jerusalem refrains from granting Palestinians building permits and demolishes or forces them to demolish their homes, in a procedure that contravenes international laws and humanitarian principles that guarantee the right to housing.

These measures consider as a part of the occupation’s systematic practices to forcibly displace Palestinians from Jerusalem in order to expand settlements in and around the city.
