Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed on Tuesday that the repeated attacks launched by the Zionist entity, along with its inhumane and expansionist actions, constitute the main challenge and primary element of instability and insecurity in Lebanon and the entire region.
Pezeshkian said during a ceremony for receiving the credentials of Ahmed Sweidan, the new Lebanese ambassador to Tehran: “The attacks on defenseless civilians, assassinations of figures, and the Zionist entity’s expansionist and war-inciting policies all target the security and stability of the region,” according to the official Iranian News Agency.
He stressed Iran’s clear and firm stance on these Zionist actions, which is based on supporting the rights of the peoples of the region.
He pointed to the special and distinguished place of Lebanon in Iran’s foreign and regional policy, explaining that “Iranian-Lebanese relations are not merely political relations, but are based on shared cultural and intellectual foundations, and strong ties between the two peoples, ties that have united the peoples of the two countries in their joys and sorrows.”
The Iranian President also affirmed that his country follows developments in Lebanon with great interest, adding: “Our sincere desire is for the Lebanese people to live in peace, stability, and tranquility, and to be safe from the threats and conspiracies of the Zionist entity.”
In the meeting, the new Lebanese ambassador to Tehran stated: “Relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran are an integral part of the culture and daily life of the Lebanese people, and based on this, we believe that the pressures exerted against these relations will not achieve their goals.”
