The United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, condemned on Friday the killing of the Palestinian-American youth, Nasrallah Abu Siam (19 years old), who was shot and beaten in an attack carried out by “Israeli” settlers in the village of Mukhmas in the occupied West Bank last Wednesday.

The UN Spokesperson, Stephane Dujarric, stated that in the same attack, settlers opened fire on three other Palestinians and wounded them, noting that the young man Nasrallah died from his wounds later that same day, according to the UN News website.

The Secretary-General extended his sincere condolences to the family of Abu Siam and their loved ones. On behalf of the Office of the UN Spokesperson, Dujarric offered his warmest condolences to the Palestinian journalist Abdul Hamid Siam, a member of the UN Correspondents Association.

Guterres called for an immediate, thorough, and transparent investigation into the circumstances of this incident, and for holding those responsible accountable. He urged the government of the Israeli entity to take concrete steps to stop and prevent all acts of violence committed by settlers against Palestinians, in compliance with its obligations as an occupying power.
