The Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, expressed grave concern on Monday regarding the new “Israeli” decisions concerning the West Bank in occupied Palestine.
Guterres, in a statement by his spokesperson, Stéphane Dujarric, published on the United Nations website and reviewed by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), reiterated the confirmation that “all Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and any settlement-related regime and infrastructure, lack legal legitimacy, constitute a flagrant violation of international law, and United Nations resolutions.”
He said, “Such measures, including Israel’s continued presence in the occupied Palestinian territory, not only destabilize but are also illegal according to what the International Court of Justice has concluded.”
Guterres called on “Israel” to reverse those measures, and also called on all parties to preserve the only path to achieving lasting peace in accordance with Security Council resolutions and international law.
