Adnan Abu Hasna, media advisor for UNRWA, affirmed on Tuesday that the agency remains the only lifeline for Palestinians in Gaza despite all the difficulties and restrictions imposed by Israel on its work.
Speaking to Sputnik, Abu Hasna stressed the organization’s determination to continue delivering its vital services amid extremely complex humanitarian conditions in Gaza and across all its areas of operation.
He noted that UNRWA has managed to restore the education process in the Strip despite the extensive destruction of infrastructure. The agency is currently accommodating 300,000 children in its damaged schools, including 70,000 receiving in-person education, while the rest continue their studies through online platforms.
He added that education faces enormous challenges, including severe psychological and mental pressures on students, as well as widespread acute malnutrition and shortages of essential food supplies.
