USA: Two Dead, One Injured in Shooting at South Carolina University

Two people were killed and another injured in a shooting incident at a student housing facility at a South Carolina university in the USA, leading to the closure of the campus.

 

University officials said in a statement published on the university’s Facebook page on Friday that the incident occurred in an apartment at the Huguenot Suites student housing complex. No further official details are yet available.

 

The statement clarified that “university officials have not yet confirmed the identity of the two deceased or the condition of the injured person.”

 

South Carolina University, which has over 3,000 enrolled students, is located on the riverbank and is approximately 64 kilometers southeast of Columbia, the state capital.

 

The university stated that it has requested state authorities to investigate the shooting and has closed the campus today.
