WFP: Families in Gaza break their Ramadan fast with simple meals amid rubble

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) confirmed today, Friday, that families in the Gaza Strip are breaking their fast during Ramadan with simple meals amid the rubble.

The UN agency said in a post on X, monitored by the Yemen News Agency (SABA): “With rubble beneath their tables and a simple meal prepared, many families in Gaza are breaking their fast during Ramadan.”

The WFP noted that it provides assistance to families in urgent need during these difficult times.

With U.S. and European support, the Israeli occupation army, over more than two continuous years since October 7, 2023, has committed mass atrocities, imposed blockades, and caused starvation in Gaza, resulting in the deaths of 72,069 Palestinian civilians, most of them children and women, and injuries to 171,728 others as of Thursday. Thousands of victims remain trapped under rubble and in the streets, inaccessible to rescue and medical teams.

A ceasefire agreement in Gaza came into effect on October 10 following two years of continuous genocidal aggression, yet the Israeli army continues to violate the agreement daily.
