Yemen Parliament Denounces US Threats Against Iran

The Parliament has strongly condemned US escalation in the region, warning that such actions fuel conflict and threaten regional and international stability.

In a statement issued following a meeting chaired by Speaker Yahya Ali Al-Ra’i, the Parliament said recent threats made by US President Donald Trump against the Islamic Republic of Iran constitute “blatant interference” in Iran’s internal affairs and a violation of its sovereignty.

It added that the threats represent a dangerous breach of international law, norms, and humanitarian and ethical principles, as well as a challenge to the will of the international community.

The statement affirmed Yemen’s leadership and people stand in solidarity with Iran and support Tehran’s “deterrent options” against the US. It also urged regional and international parliamentary unions to condemn US moves in the region.

The Parliament warned that continued US escalation poses a threat not only to Iran but to global peace and security, calling on all parties to unite against US and Zionist arrogance, which it said could drive the world toward “destruction and chaos.”

It further stressed Iran’s legitimate right to confront US threats and respond decisively to any aggression or reckless actions by the Trump administration, rejecting opportunistic US and Israeli enemy demands.

The statement appealed to nations and peoples worldwide to abandon “shameful silence and neutrality” and to confront US dominance and Western hegemony over the resources of the region and oppressed peoples globally. It also warned of plots by the US and Israeli enemy against the Islamic world, particularly Iran.

In addition, the Parliament renewed its warning over continued Israeli enemy “genocidal crimes” against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, citing a recent attack on civilians and civilian facilities that reportedly killed and wounded dozens, most of them women and children. It said such attacks constitute a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement and international conventions.

The statement held the United States to be fully responsible morally—for crimes committed against the Palestinian people, describing Washington as a principal partner in Israel’s ongoing military campaign against Gaza.
