Iran’s FM condemns US-Israeli strikes on Iranian scientists, universities

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi denounced US-Israeli strikes on Iran’s educational and academic centers, arguing that targeting scientists and universities reflects “desperation” and will not halt the country’s scientific progress.

In a post on his X account on Sunday, Araqchi decried a pattern of attacks on Iran’s intellectual infrastructure, including universities and nuclear facilities.

“Israel and its partner-in-crime believe that knowledge can be bombed away,” the Iranian foreign minister said.

“It’s reflected in the murders of Iran’s scientists and attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites, and now universities,” he added.

“Reality check: your actions ooze of desperation and only inspire more pursuit of knowledge,” Araqchi reminded the US and the Zionist regime.

He framed the strikes as part of a broader effort to undermine Iran’s scientific advancement, while asserting that such actions would ultimately prove counterproductive.
