Explosions Rock Al-Anad Military Base in Lahj

Al-Anad Military Base in Yemen’s Lahj Governorate, currently under the control of Saudi-Emirati occupation militias, was shaken by powerful explosions today, Thursday.

Local sources reported that intense blasts rocked the base, attributed to the detonation of an arms depot within the facility, according to “26 September Net.”

The explosions reportedly continued for over an hour, with shells scattering into the base’s surroundings. The incident is said to have resulted in both material and human casualties.

Observers suggest that Al-Anad base has been a point of contention between the Saudi and Emirati factions of the aggression coalition.

Riyadh has reportedly pushed for the base to be handed over to its loyalist militias, a move rejected by Abu Dhabi and its aligned forces.

Observers have not ruled out the possibility that these explosions are linked to this ongoing power struggle for control over the strategically important military base, which was originally built by the Soviet Union.
