Civil Defense teams in the Capital Secretariat successfully controlled two separate fires, with no human casualties recorded.
According to the Security Media Center, the Civil Defense Authority reported that the first fire broke out in the three-story house of citizen Abdullah Al-Hajj Ghanem in the Al-Sabeen district. Firefighting and rescue teams received an urgent report about the incident and moved immediately to the site.
The Authority added that the teams, in cooperation with citizens, were able to contain the flames and prevent their spread to the rest of the house. The incident resulted in the burning of the house’s roof and parts of the kitchen.
The initial investigation revealed that the cause of the fire was a gas leak.
The report also mentioned that Civil Defense teams managed to control a second fire that erupted in a hangar in the Souq Al-Khamis area in the Bani Al-Harith district.
This second fire resulted in the complete burning of a “Dyna” type truck in addition to some materials stored inside the hangar.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the causes of the second fire were negligence and the lack of public safety and security measures.
The Civil Defense Authority urged citizens and institutions in both the public and private sectors to strictly adhere to security and safety requirements, including regularly inspecting electrical connections, ensuring gas cylinder valves are closed, and monitoring children inside homes, to protect lives and property from hazards.
