The Palestinian National Bureau for Defending the Land and Resisting Settlements warned of the accelerating steps taken by the Israeli government to legalize settlement outposts and illegal grazing farms, transforming them into official settlements, in clear defiance of international law and UN resolutions, and with direct American political cover.
In a report issued Saturday, the Bureau explained that the Israeli Security Cabinet approved the establishment of 19 new settlements in the occupied West Bank last Sunday, a move described as a grave violation of international laws and norms.
Finance Minister and Minister of Settlement Affairs in the Ministry of Defense, Bezalel Smotrich, considered it a “historic decision” aimed at thwarting any future possibility of establishing a Palestinian state, according to Quds Press.
