The Salafist leader and commander of the “Second Al-Amaliqa Brigade”, Hamdi Shukri Al-Subaihi, survived an assassination attempt on Wednesday involving a car bomb that targeted his convoy in the “Ja’oula” area of Dar Sad district, north of Aden province, southern Yemen.
Local sources confirmed that a rigged vehicle parked roadside detonated as the convoy passed. The blast resulted in the death of two guards and left several others injured. While Al-Subeihi escaped unharmed, the explosion caused severe damage to a military vehicle and nearby civilian property.
This attack follows recent security tensions in the region. Authorities have launched an investigation to identify the perpetrators behind the bombing.
