A source in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard confirmed on Monday that the perception held by the US and Israel that a limited, swift, and clean operation against Iran is possible stems from miscalculations and a flawed understanding of Tehran’s defensive and offensive capabilities.
The source, quoted by Al-Mayadeen Net, stated that the Iranian armed forces “not only monitor enemy movements during the execution phase but also closely observe the initial indicators of any threat to the country’s national security.”
He added that “based on field assessments, the appropriate decision will be made at the right time.”
He warned that any scenario “designed based on surprise or control of the scope of the conflict will slip out of the hands of its designers from the outset,” noting that “the presence of US aircraft carriers and military equipment in the region has been exaggerated.”
He explained that “the maritime environment surrounding Iran is a well-known local environment and is entirely under the control of the Iranian armed forces,” emphasizing that “the presence of forces from outside the region in such an environment would not be a threat but would rather make them easy targets.”
He pointed out that “Iran will not initiate any war, but it will not allow any threat to infringe upon its national security,” noting that past experiences have shown that “attempts to influence internal affairs or undermine Iran’s political structure have always failed.”
