WHO Director-General: Over 18,500 Patients in Gaza Need Specialized Care

The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, stated on Tuesday that over 18,500 patients in the Gaza Strip still require specialized medical care unavailable within the Strip, given the near-total collapse of the health system after two years of war.

In a post on the “X” platform, monitored by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), Ghebreyesus emphasized that the health situation in Gaza necessitates the urgent rehabilitation and reconstruction of the health system to reduce reliance on medical evacuations, stressing that this is the top priority at this stage.
