UNRWA: West Bank is facing largest displacement crisis since 1967

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) confirmed on Saturday that refugees in the occupied Palestinian territories are facing a severe and prolonged humanitarian crisis.

In a post on the platform X, monitored by SABA News Agency, the UN agency explained that the occupied West Bank is experiencing the largest wave of mass displacement since 1967.

It said: “A year after the operation launched by Israeli forces in the northern occupied West Bank, more than 33,000 people remain displaced from their houses as of January 2026.”

Israeli forces and settlers have intensified their daily attacks and settlement expansion in the West Bank and occupied Quds, in parallel with the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, despite the ceasefire agreement that came into effect on October 10, 2025, which Israel has not adhered to.
