Approximately 40,000 Palestinian worshippers performed the Isha and Taraweeh prayers on Wednesday evening at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, despite restrictions and measures imposed by Israeli authorities on access to the Old City.
The Islamic Waqf Department in occupied Quds stated that thousands of Palestinian citizens flocked to Al-Aqsa Mosque to perform prayers in a spiritual atmosphere, while Israeli forces were deployed at the gates of the Old City and around the Mosque. They checked the IDs of several young men and prevented some of them from entering.
In the same context, Israeli forces arrested a young man from the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque and took him to one of the interrogation centers in occupied Quds.
Al-Aqsa Mosque continues to witness large numbers of worshippers during the holy month of Ramadan, amid tightened Israeli measures and restrictions on the entry of Palestinians coming from the occupied West Bank, in addition to age-based entry limitations imposed during certain periods.
