December 17th, Yemeni pro-Saudi forces and Ansaruallah completed an exchange of hundreds of detainees, an official said, amid a shaky ceasefire on the third day of UN-sponsored peace talks in Switzerland.
Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, Chairman of the Supreme Revolutionary Committee, said that the detainees of the Yemeni Army and People’s Committees suffered and sacrificed for the sake of the homeland, security and freedom, “your presence in the South was not for the invasion because the people of the south are Yemeni citizens and our brothers. You were there because that Daash and al-Qaeda supported by Saudi American were there, you went to protect the Yemeni people from slaughter, lynching and burning.”
Al-Houthi stressed that all remaining prisoners will return to the embrace of the nation in the near future.
The swap involved 370 Houthis and 285 pro-Saudi fighters, he said.
It took place in the Yafaa district of the southern province of Lahj, along the border with the central Bayda province.
