U.S department of state said, in a recent statement on the situation in Yemen, al Qaeda and Daash expand their influence in Yemen. The US warning came in the wake of bloody attacks that left dozens in Mukalla, adopted by Daash.
U.S State Department warned its citizens not to travel to Yemen because of the high level of the security threat posed by the ongoing conflict and terrorism activities.
On the ministry official website, on Tuesday June 28th, the statement said that we urge our citizens not to travel to Yemen as a result of the instability level and the ongoing threats, including the threat of kidnapping, also.
“we have received reports of numbers of American citizens and other foreigners were abducted , including aid workers in Yemen,” the statement added “we warn all United State citizens not to think of traveling to Yemen, even with an aid organization, because of the risk of arrest and kidnapping.”
In addition, the threat posed by extremist violent groups in Yemen is still high. Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula expands its influence in Yemen since the beginning of the conflict. Despite the expulsion of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula from its safe haven in Mukalla in eastern Yemen, it is still a major threat, according to the US State Department statement.
