Yemen’s Ansarullah says any solution to the conflict in his country must guarantee the end of Saudi aggression and its siege of the impoverished country.
Writing on his Facebook account, Ansarullah spokesman Mohammad Abdulsalam said on Thursday Houthis will reject any peace plan that fails to stop Saudi aggression, lift an air and naval blockade and remove economic restrictions.
Abdulsalam made the comments after meeting with UN special envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed in the capital Sana’a.
The spokesman said any solution to end the crisis should be agreed by all the involved parties.
Abdulsalam’s remarks come as a fresh round of UN-sponsored peace talks between warring sides is set to kick off in Kuwait on Friday.
The peace talks on Yemen began in Kuwait on April 21 with the aim of putting an end to more than a year of conflict in the Arab country.
