The Supreme Political Council held a meeting today headed by Saleh Al-Samad, the head of The Supreme Political Council , discussing the plan of the Ministry of Information to improve the performance of official media institutions.
During the meeting, the Minister of Information Ahmed Hamed explained the practical steps that will be taken by the Ministry of Information in the framework of its plan to modernize the media policy to convey the voice of the Yemenis to the local, Arab and international public opinion.
Minister Hamed said that the ministry was keen in its plan to develop the investment of the media institutions revenue through establishing specialized television channels and provide broadcasting stations while continuing the maintenance work of the previous stations, reviewing the heavy losses suffered by media institutions as a result of the Saudi-led coalition aggression.
He also went through measures and procedures that will be taken by the Ministry to expand media cooperation between all government and private anti-aggression means at the local and foreign level and the possibility of communicating with the Arabic and world media with a strong and influential media presence in the public opinion in order to convey and reveal to the world the heinous crimes committed against Yemenis by Saudi-led coalition aggression.
The meeting also discussed the tasks carried out by the official media during the past period and their commitment to the objectives and policies in the coverage of press, radio and television and ways to overcome the difficulties caused by the aggression.
