Economic sector losses exceeded $ 71.5 bln over 4 years war on Yemen

Yemen’s Finance Minister Rashid Abu Lahom said that the losses of the Yemeni economic sector in four-year-old war of Saudi-led aggression coalition on Yemen has exceeded 71.5 billion dollars.

During an interview, the Minister said that” Saudi-backed exiled Hadi’s government in Aden has illegally printed over 1720 billion Yemeni riyals, causing a disaster on the Yemeni economy.”

Abu Lahom added that the aggression exploited economic blockade as a paper to pressure on the Yemeni people, causing on the living conditions to target citizens in various areas of health and education.

The minister touched upon that losses of the economic sector might have exceeded $ 95.5 billion in the end of 2019, including the losses of oil and gas extraction sector.
