The death toll from the artillery shelling of the Al-Mudhafer hospital in Taiz, which was carried out by the Islah militias, has risen to more than 35 dead and 30 others wounded, medical sources reported.
Medical sources at Al-Muzaffar Hospital said that the hospital was attacked by a thermal rocket, which caused major casualties to the medical staff, patients and their escorts in the hospital. More than dead 20 bodies lie charred by the flames in the courtyard of the hospital.
At least 15 people were killed inside and outside the hospital, and more than 30 people were injured, some of them critically, the sources added.
The city of Taiz has been the scene of total civil war in the past week, as militants loyal to the Islah Party (the Yemeni branch of the Muslim Brotherhood) and the Abu al-Abbas militias (a Wahhabi organisation tied to Al-Qaeda) have engaged in fierce and bloody struggles.
