France has reportedly sold two frigates to the UAE for a total worth of 750 million euros, the French newspaper “Le Parisien” reported on Friday.
The sale of the two frigates came on the back of the signing of a secret agreement between the UAE and France’s Naval Group, a French industrial group specializing in maritime defense, in Abu Dhabi on March 25.
There was no official announcement of the deal, either from the UAE or French side until yesterday, indicating a high level of secrecy.
Earlier, on the basis of a secret document that was dated September 25, French radio revealed that the French government has sold weapons to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and that these weapons were used against civilian targets in Yemen.
Despite growing pressure in Europe to ban the sales of weapons to the invasion powers that have been attacking Yemen since 2015, France continues to supply weapons and material to the Saudi-led invaders
