The Yemen Coast Guard has officially announced that it has seized 3 foreign ships, one of them being a Saudi tanker named Rabigh-3, just three miles from the Yemeni Island Abqan in the Red Sea.
The seizing of the Saudi tanker happened when the vessel was illegally entering Yemeni territorial waters, in violation of maritime jurisdiction.
The Yemeni Coast Guard and the Ministry of Interior affirmed its commitment to “protecting Yemen’s national sovereignty by any means necessary.
Early reports stated that the vessels had passengers of various backgrounds on board, numbering at least 28 different nationalities of suspected mercenaries.
