Deputy Prime Minister for Defense and Security Affairs, Jalal Al-Ruwaishan, stressed that the growing problem with regard to Sana’a Airport is humanitarian and it has nothing to do with the political or military situation.
He said that “the forces of aggression should know that the continued closure or opening of the airport has nothing to do with the people’s steadfastness and has no effect on the military and security situation.”
Al-Ruwaishan clarified by saying that Sana’a is the capital of the Republic of Yemen and its airport is the approved international airport, and we have no options but to open the airport, even if the aggression continues for another 7 years. He stressed that what the Leader of the Revolution and the President talked about was that the opening of Sana’a Airport is a humanitarian issue and can not be exchanged for a military or security situation at all.
Al-Ruwaishan stated that the right to travel is guaranteed to every individual and all free people in the world must bear their responsibilities towards the crime of closing Sana’a Airport, which represents a flagrant violation of all laws.
The Minister of Transportation, Major General Amer Al-Marani, also called on the international community and all free people in the world to pressure the aggression to open Sana’a International Airport, and we confirm the airport’s readiness to receive flights.
