Eye of Humanity Center (Ain al-Insiyah Center) for Human Rights and Development condemned on Wednesday the new war crime of the forces of aggression targeting Al-Raqo market in Munabbih district of Sa’adah, which led to the injury of eight citizens.
The rights group confirmed in a statement that this crime comes in the context of the daily crimes of the Saudi-led aggression, and is considered war crimes, according to international humanitarian legal description contained in Geneva Conventions.
The Center called for the formation of an international investigation committee for the crimes committed by the countries involved in the aggression against innocent civilians. It denounced the silence of the international community and international bodies, especially the United Nations, which monitors what the coalition countries are doing.
Early on Wednesday, Almasirah Net correspondent in Sa’ada reported that the border area of Al-Raqo was subjected to Saudi missile and artillery shelling, which resulted in the injury of eight civilians, some of whom are in serious condition.
The reporter explained that the Al-Raqo market was bombed by the Saudi-led aggression in an indiscriminate manner that lasted for hours. He pointed out that the Apache helicopters run by the US-Saudi aggression had flown heavily over Al-Raqo area since the early hours of the morning.
In recent weeks, dozens of civilians, including children and women, were martyred and wounded in almost daily crimes committed by the Saudi forces, especially in Al-Raqo area and the border areas in general.
In light of its defeats on various frontlines and its failure to achieve any of its objectives, the US-Saudi aggression is notorious for its indiscrimination shown by its numerous attacks against densely-populated centers especially in Sa’adah province, including markets, hospitals, and schools.
Tens of thousands have died since August 2015, when Saudi Arabia and a number of its regional allies launched its devastating campaign against Yemen.
