The UAE and Saudi mercenaries have sent large-scale military reinforcements into several areas of Abyan province, southern Yemen, which is in a state of extreme tension as both sides prepare for a battle that followers describe as the biggest and bloodiest in years, local sources said.
According to the sources, military vehicles and artillery arrived at ‘Qarn Al-Klasi’ front, the defense line for the coastal city of Shuqra, the stronghold of the Islah military command.
During the past two weeks, the Islah party pushed military reinforcements to ‘Sheikh Salem’ front and Shoqra camps, in conjunction with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s demonstrations demanding the exit of the Islah forces from Shabwah.
The STC accused the Islah party of abortizing the consultations to implement the “Riyadh Agreement” signed with the “Hadi government” in early November 2019.
