The workers and employees of the Yemen Petroleum Company renewed their demand for release of fuel tankers detained by the US-led aggression coalition with the participation of the United Nations.
In the protest, they stressed that the United Nations is a key partner in maritime piracy on fuel ships.
The participants denounced the arbitrary practices of the forces of the US-led aggression coalition in seizing fuel tankers, the continuation of piracy, and the catastrophic repercussions it causes on the Yemeni people.
In a statement issued by the employees, they expressed their denunciation of the shameful UN position regarding the continuation of piracy, causing human suffering in Yemen.
The statement called on the United Nations not to ignore the laws and repeated humanitarian calls and to return to the Convention on Law of Sea, which criminalizes piracy on fuel, food and medicine ships.
The statement thanked the free people of the world who support the Yemeni people in demanding lifting the siege through sit-ins and vigils, calling for continued pressure on the US-Saudi aggression coalition to release the fuel tankers as they are considered humanitarian issues.
The statement held the coalition of the US-Saudi aggression and United Nations responsible for the human suffering that the Yemeni people are subjected to due to the continued piracy on fuel tankers and preventing their entry to the port of Hodeidah.
The statement renewed its call on the international community, humanitarian and human rights organizations, media professionals and global public opinion to act by putting pressure on the US-Saudi aggression coalition not to detain or attack fuel tankers.
According to the company, the forces of the US-Saudi aggression coalition are still holding four tankers. One of them is loaded with diesel, another is loaded with gas, and two tankers are loaded with a quantity of “59,966” tons of gasoline and diesel.
It is noteworthy that the coalition of aggression continues in the arbitrary practices and acts of piracy, despite the fact that the fuel tankers obtained UN permits that conform to the conditions stipulated in the verification and inspection mechanism.
