Israeli fears have escalated that the army and popular committees forces are close to retaking the city of Marib, the last stronghold of the factions loyal to the coalition, in northern Yemen.
The Hebrew media allocated large spots in its media to cover the current events in the city.
In a report by the Jerusalem Post, it described the control of the city by what it described as “Houthis” as a continuation of the arc of serious threat to Israel’s security.
“Marib is several hundred kilometers from the Saudi border but if the rebels take the city it will be a symbolic defeat” the report said.
Israel’s raising of the warnings comes with international media outlets, most recently the British Guardian that highlighted the repercussions of the recent advance of Sana’a forces with the possibility of controlling the city within days, which indicates the extent of the Israelis’ fear of defeating their strategic allies in the region, led by Saudi Arabia.
