The Ministry of Electricity and Energy and the Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC) in Sana’a signed on Saturday a memorandum of agreement to control and regulate the activity of private generator stations.
The agreement aimed to regulate the activity of private generator owners, in a manner that ensures that the citizen is not exploited or the merchant is not harmed.
According to the agreement, which comes in implementation of the directives of the President of the Supreme Political Council, the Ministry determines the actual need of the stations of private electric generators of diesel fuel (mazut) based on the actual capacities registered with the Ministry or the produced energy that will be measured by energy monitoring meters.
Under the agreement, the YPC is committed to allocating and providing sufficient quantities of diesel for the government power plants and for the stations of private electric generators.
