The Public Electricity Corporation in Hodeida condemned the Saudi-led coalition’s seizure of the mazut-loaded ship (Golden Eagleii), which belongs to the electricity sector.
In a statement obtained by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the Electricity Corporation said the seizure of the ship and denied entry to the port of Hodeidah, despite obtaining entry permits from the United Nations, is a flagrant violation of the truce and an arbitrary measure to further the suffering of the Yemeni people, especially the people of Tihama, which is the hottest area in Yemen.
The statement held the UN responsible for these irresponsible practices, demanding more pressure on the coalition to release the ship and allow it to enter the port of Hodeidah.
It condemned the silence of international community on the coalition’s ongoing violations of the UN-brokered truce, stressing this silence will result in compounding the suffering of the Yemeni people, Since diesel fuel is intended mainly for operating the health facilities and vital sectors in Yemen.
