Saudi delegate assumed his duties in managing the affairs of Hadhramaut Governorate, which is rich in oil and has a strategic location in eastern Yemen.
This coincides with Saudi Arabia’s reconciliation between the Yemeni rival forces. Falah bin Mutlaq al-Shahrani, his deputy and Abdullah al-Qahtani arrived in the city of Seiyun, where they were received by the governor of the congrass there, Mabkhout bin Madi.
Upon his arrival, Al-Shahrani held meetings with military, security and political leaders. Bin Madh indicated in a statement to his office that the arrival of Al-Shahrani aims to support the local authority, enhance security and stability, and spare the province any military confrontations, in addition to rejecting the creation of any military force in the province.
Bin Madi, who recently returned from Saudi Arabia, confirmed in a previous statement Saudi Arabia’s decision to form a special team to manage security, political and economic files in the province.
The Saudi move comes after weeks of mutual escalation between the Islah Party and the Transitional Council, fueled by regional parties, and was concluded – as it seems – with a media reconciliation between Al-Zubaidi and Hamid Al-Ahmar.
