The Presidium of the Shura Council condemned on Sunday the deliberate and repeated Western abuses of Islamic sanctities, the latest of which was the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran in Sweden.
In its meeting, headed by the Council’s Speaker, Muhammad Hussein al-Aidarous, the Council’s Presidium described this act, carried out in Stockholm by the Danish far-right party leader, Rasmus Paludan, as extremist and contrary to religious and heavenly morals.
The Presidium of the Shura considered burning a copy of the Holy Quran a blatant assault and a deliberate insult to Islam and Muslims.
It called on the Association of Senates, Shura and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World, and free people of the world to condemn this disgraceful act and work to find charters that criminalize all forms of extremism and any insults to religions and sanctities.
