United Nations report expected the disputes between members of the Presidential Council in Yemen to develop into a military clash.

The report issued by the International Group of Experts on Yemen warned of the dangers of continuing severe internal conflicts that threaten the unity and cohesion of the Presidential Council in a way that threatens the forces loyal to its members to slide toward a military clash.

The UN report confirmed that “the Presidential Command Council is going through a phase of severe internal conflicts that have affected its ability to provide basic public services, making it vulnerable to criticism from the Yemeni people.”

He added that the cohesion of the Council will be at stake if these problems continue, which threatens the outbreak of military confrontations between the forces affiliated with its members.

He pointed out that the legal, economic, security and military committees, and the reconciliation committee, formed after the establishment of the Presidential Leadership Council, had not achieved any tangible progress in performing the tasks assigned to them.

This is evidenced by the Military Committee’s inability to unify the various armed forces under one command.

He also stressed that the prolonged absence of government ministers and other senior officials from the country affected the credibility of the Yemeni government.
