Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on Wednesday said that Washington must stop violating Yemen’s sovereignty, stop the war, and move away from the trap that the Zionist regime has set for it.

This came in his statements before the UN Security Council on Tuesday night, in which he held the United States responsible for obstructing the Council’s role in stopping the aggression against Gaza.

Abdollahian said: “At the same time, Washington is attacking Yemen’s sovereignty and expanding the arena of conflict,” stressing that it must “bear responsibility for the results, and instead of asking others to exercise restraint, it must force the Israeli regime to stop the war.”

He added “The United States, as the actual supporter of the Zionist regime in this crime, prevented this council from carrying out its duties to stop the genocide of a people and achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. On the other hand, it expressed its deep concern about the danger of expanding the scope of tension in the region –therefore, it continues its full support for the Zionist war machine.”

The Iranian Foreign Minister warned that the scope of the war has become broader, and this means that the risk of a broader war in the region has risen.

Abdollahian confirmed in an interview with the American ABC News that the key to solving the problem in Gaza is in Washington before it is in Tel Aviv.

The Iranian minister said “If the United States stops its logistical, political and media support for the genocidal war waged by Israel, I assure you that Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will not survive for ten minutes.”
