Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov confirmed that the aggression against Yemen by Western countries constitutes a threat to international peace and security.
During his participation in the Security Council meetings in New York, Lavrov said that the United Nations did not grant the United States the right to launch strikes against Yemen, as happened in Libya, considering that a violation of the law.
He added: “We presented proposals and draft resolutions for a ceasefire in Gaza, but the United States blocked them.” He noted that the escalation in southern Lebanon is dangerous, condemning the Israeli attacks on Syria and on individuals present officially with the permission of the Syrian government.
Lavrov held the United States responsible for the possible extension of the conflict in the Middle East due to its attacks on Yemen. He pointed out that “Israel” prevented the World Health Organization from delivering medicines to the northern Gaza Strip, and killed more than 150 UN employees.
