Syrian air defense units have intercepted and shot down most of the missiles launched by the Israeli military near the country’s capital city of Damascus, local media reported.

According to local Syrian media reports, early on Sunday, Israeli military aircraft “carried out an aerial attack from the direction of the occupied Golan Heights, and targeted several sites in the Damascus countryside.”

The reports added that Syrian air defenses shot down most of the missiles. There were no injuries in the strike, but there were material losses.

Israel often conducts airstrikes on military installations in Syria, particularly those belonging to the Lebanese resistance group Hezbollah.
