Yemen’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned on Monday that the ongoing Zionist aggression against Gaza will not be confined to Palestinian territories alone, emphasizing that US support for the Israeli regime threatens the international legal system and the United Nations’ existence.
In a statement following the recent massacre in Rafah, southern Gaza, the Ministry condemned the continued international and regional disregard for the genocide and war crimes committed by the Israeli regime against Palestinians in Gaza and occupied territories, highlighting the recent targeting of displaced persons in Rafah.
The Ministry asserted that this brutal massacre is a blatant violation of international law and the UN Charter, especially the four Geneva Conventions.
It warned that the continuation of Zionist aggression on Gaza will have serious repercussions on international peace and security, including threats to the security of regimes supporting Israel.
The Ministry called on the international community, particularly the United States as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, to fulfill its responsibilities under the UN Charter and cease its unconditional support for Israel, adding that this support undermines the international legal system and the existence of the United Nations.
The Foreign Ministry reiterated the centrality of the Palestinian cause, urging governments that have normalized or are considering normalizing relations with Israel to reconsider their stance and align with their people’s demands for a just resolution to the Palestinian issue and the establishment of a Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital.
