The Ministry of Information and its affiliated institutions organized a speech event on Tuesday to mark the first anniversary of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation, which began on October 7, and to honor the martyrs of Arab journalism in this battle.
During the event, Minister of Information Hashim Sharaf al-Din emphasized that commemorating this occasion is not merely about celebrating a military operation, but recognizing the crucial role of Arab journalists in amplifying the voice of resistance and highlighting the injustices faced by the Palestinian people while steadfastly confronting aggression and siege.
He considered October 7 a pivotal day in history that will forever remain etched in everyone’s memory, as the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation represents a turning point in the struggle against the Zionist enemy.
The Minister stated, “Over the past year, we have witnessed bravery and dedication from Arab journalists who risked their lives to cover events from the front lines, defying intimidation. These journalists are heroes of our time, and we must honor their courage and sacrifices.”
He pointed out that these journalists gave a voice to the voiceless, exposed the lies of the Zionist enemy, and inspired a generation of Arab youth, as well as young people in many countries around the world, to defend the Palestinian cause.
However, he lamented that some Arab journalists did not play a noble role in this struggle but chose to collaborate with the occupying enemies, disseminating and amplifying their propaganda, betraying the trust of their people, and thus becoming enemies of the nation and freedom, destined to be remembered for their treachery.
The Minister called on everyone to remember that the struggle for freedom and independence is not just a military fight but also an informational jihad. He stressed that the battle for hearts and minds is as important as the battle on the ground, and it is the responsibility of Arab journalists to play a leading role in this struggle.
He highlighted the importance of national media in honoring the martyrs who sacrificed their lives to defend the sanctities and land of Palestine and Lebanon.
For his part, Deputy Minister of Information Dr. Omar al-Bukhaiti considered October 7, 2023, a true beginning that ignited the resistance axis to confront the usurping entity, unifying the fate of this axis and making it more painful for the Zionist enemy.
He spoke about the characteristics of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation, especially its impact on halting normalization efforts and the resistance axis’s stance against the Zionist entity, which has lost its political horizons and faces multiple crises. He noted the growing responsibility on everyone to confront it and revealed the truth about the regimes normalizing relations with this entity.
The Deputy Minister pointed out that one of the notable features of the October 7 operation was the significant economic losses inflicted on the Zionist enemy, leading to job losses, increased unemployment, fleeing investors, port closures, and rising prices of goods and services in the usurping entity.
He praised Yemen’s honorable position, led by Mr. Abdul-Malik Badreddin al-Houthi, regarding the crimes and massacres faced by the Palestinian people before the eyes and ears of the world.
He affirmed the importance of unity among the resistance axis in confronting Zionist and American aggression, noting that the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation confirmed the inevitability of the Zionist entity’s demise, which is linked to the fall of many Arab regimes planted by the Zionist, American, and British forces.
