The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, confirmed on Monday that “hospitals in Gaza have once again become battlefields, and the health system is under severe threat.”
This came after Israeli occupation forces set fire to and raided Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip as part of their ongoing military campaign there.
He said, “The director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, Hussam Abu Safiya, is in an unknown location, and we demand his release.”
The director general of WHO also urged “Israel” to respect the health needs of the patients it has detained in Gaza.
