Actress Jamie Lee Curtis is facing criticism for likening the devastating wildfires currently sweeping the Los Angeles area to the ongoing war in Gaza.
A video clip of the 66-year-old Oscar-winning actress making these statements during a question-and-answer session to promote a new film has gone viral, during which she said: “The entire Pacific Palisades area unfortunately looks like Gaza or one of the war-torn countries where terrible things are happening.”
She added: “The City of Angels (Los Angeles) where I was born and raised is on fire everywhere. Pacific Palisades is completely gone.”
Curtis continued: “My house is still standing, but I live in a different valley now. Unfortunately, the scene looks like Gaza or those war-torn countries.”
Curtis’s statements sparked a wave of sharp criticism on social media platforms, where supporters of “Israel” described them as “inappropriate” and “hurtful,” especially in light of Curtis’ previous support for “Israel.”
