After the Red Sea Mission… US Navy Dismisses Commander Of Aircraft Carrier USS Harry S. Truman

The failure and inability to stop the operations of the Yemeni Armed Forces supporting Gaza in the Red Sea battle have pushed the US to dismiss the commander of the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier.

On Friday, the US Navy announced  the dismissal of the Commander of the Aircraft Carrier “Harry Truman” from his position.

The US Navy stated, in a statement, that Sean Bailey, commander of the eighth aircraft carrier strike group, issued an order to dismiss Dave Snowden from his position, which he has held since December 2023, after the carrier’s collision with a commercial ship last week in the Mediterranean Sea.

The statement stated that the commander of the aircraft carrier “Dwight Eisenhower” will assume the position of interim commander of the ship “Harry Truman”, while Snowden will be temporarily transferred to the Navy’s air forces in the Atlantic region.

The statement indicated that the aircraft carrier “Dwight D. Eisenhower” is currently undergoing routine maintenance at the Naval Shipyard in “Norfolk”, after completing a nine-month mission within the operations of the US Central Command and the US European Command, which concluded in July 2024.
