A human rights report revealed that more than 165 people were physically assassinated due to their political positions in Aden Governorate during the past ten years.
A report issued by the Rights Radar organization stated that the city of Aden ranked first in physical assassination crimes in Yemen during the past period.
The report explained that 165 assassination crimes were recorded in the city of Aden, which is under the control of the UAE-backed Transitional Militia, during the reporting period.
According to the report, 953 physical assassination cases were documented in more than one governorate, including 93 elderly people, indicating that the motives behind these operations ranged between political, sectarian, regional, ideological and military.
The report stated that among the list of governorates that witnessed physical assassination crimes, Taiz Governorate, which is the largest Yemeni governorate in terms of population, came in second place with 113 cases, followed by Hadhramaut Governorate with (93) cases.
Rights Radar, based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, stressed the need to hold accountable those involved in these crimes, calling for pressure to ensure justice is served and impunity is prevented.
